Students do get a solid technical foundation. Of the 1600 hours required to graduate, 270 hours are classroom instruction, and the rest is practical. Makeup School Provides Specialized Training

Cosmetology school at COBA is a very comprehensive course of study. For a more specialized training, the makeup school is recommended. This course is 600 hours of study and can be completed in about six months, in comparison to 10 months needed to complete the cosmetology course. Hands-on instruction is emphasized in the makeup artist program. Students learn color theory and the anatomy of the face. They also get instruction in makeup for everyday wear, for men, teens, and older people. There are modules on wedding and event makeup, runway makeup, and glamour shots. The instructors are all professionals with lots of experience in their fields.
